Job Title: Sessional Lecturer MHI2008H - Project Management for Health Informatics

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Lecturer to teach a professional graduate course in Project Management for Health Informatics at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health informatics and project management, and will be able to deliver a comprehensive and engaging course that prepares students for careers in health informatics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course instructor for a professional graduate course using competency-based learning and assessment methods.
  • Responsible for course delivery and assessment of student outcomes. Must be accessible to students outside of class hours.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or Masters level education in health informatics or related field; PMP certification.
  • A robust understanding of project management in health informatics and/or health management.
  • Experience in information management in a health care setting.
  • Experience teaching graduate-level courses, preferably in health informatics.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to mature students and facilitate group learning processes.
  • Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Quercus), PowerPoint, as well as on-line collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikkis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video-conferencing).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching online courses.
  • Experience in developing and implementing competency-based learning and assessment methods.
