Primary Care Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our team in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. As a Primary Care Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-focused healthcare to our diverse population.
About the RoleThis is a fixed-term position up until 31st March 2025, with a training budget of £3,000 invested in your development during this contract. You will work across different practices within the PCN, all of which are rated as Good with CQC.
The successful candidate will be expected to work between 4-8 sessions per week, undertaking duties such as face-to-face and telephone consultations, patient home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and administrative tasks.
- Face to face and telephone consultations
- Patient home visits and care home visits
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Administrative tasks namely dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence as required
- Cover all clinical management of in-surgery patients as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, and making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate
- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients
In accordance with the PCN/Practice timetable, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations, and queries. You will also be responsible for assessing the health needs of patients, screening for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, contributing to QOF requirements and recording data appropriately, and developing care plans for health-related illnesses.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working within the NHS and with the general public, well-developed IT skills, and an enthusiasm for new applications and software. You will also need to be able to use initiative, judgement, resourcefulness, common sense, and local knowledge, and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must be a qualified GP within 2 years of registration, hold MRCGP, full GMC registration, Performers List registration, and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
An estimated salary of approximately £80,000 - £110,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits package including a generous annual leave allowance, pension scheme, and opportunities for career progression.
