Role Summary

We are seeking a practicing family medicine physician licensed in Nova Scotia to fill the role of Family Medicine Advisor for the Reproductive Care Program of Nova Scotia (RCP). The successful candidate will provide leadership and advice on relevant medical/clinical issues, facilitate quality review activities, and collaborate with staff and physicians at IWK Health Centre and the RCP team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and advice on medical/clinical issues to the RCP Medical Advisors
  • Facilitate/participate in quality review activities within Nova Scotia Health facilities with the RCP Medical Advisors and the RCP team
  • Collaborate with staff and physicians at IWK Health Centre, the RCP Medical Advisors, and the RCP team on specific quality initiatives
  • Support the Manager and RCP staff in leading committees/working groups and addressing provincial perinatal-newborn issues as they arise
Requirements
  • Engaged in family medicine obstetrical and newborn care
  • Ability to travel regularly to Nova Scotia hospitals (8-10 trips/year)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing priorities. Regular travel to Nova Scotia hospitals is required, and meetings include weekly RCP Administration/Leadership meetings (virtual) and ad hoc committee/project meetings as needed. Option available for some of the work to be shared/delegated.

Compensation

The salary for this position is approximately $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. IWK Health Centre offers a comprehensive benefits package, including enhanced wellness programs and access to modern facilities.
