Business Development Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated sales professional to join our team as a Business Development Director - Commercial and Industrial. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing business relationships with large commercial, industrial, and institutional customers in North America.
Key Responsibilities- Drive non-target business growth with new and existing clients through strategic account management and relationship-building.
- Develop a personal sales strategy and manage a pipeline to meet corporate business goals, leveraging support from our marketing, customer success, and revenue operations teams.
- Lead proposal development with support from our team of solution engineers, finance, energy markets, technology, and other professionals to deliver valuable business solutions for our customers.
- Provide input and guidance on the development of new solutions and services to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
- Initiate, maintain, and cultivate strategic partnerships to increase sales and broaden service offerings.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers from the C-suite to the shop floor, promoting our energy services and solutions.
- As the electricity market evolves, customers need sophisticated solutions. You will be an experienced "hunter" who can excel at complex technical solution sales.
- Your goal will be to help our clients achieve their key objectives - reduce their total energy spend while reaching their GHG emission reduction targets.
- College/university degree.
- 3-10 years' experience in a hunter sales role.
- Experience in demand response, distributed energy resource development, grid-edge technologies, energy management solutions or related fields is an asset.
- Strong communication, lead generation, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Self-motivated, coachable, and curious.
- Comfortable promoting new energy services to customers (training will be provided).
- Proficiency with MS 365 Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.), Salesforce and other related business applications.
- Travel within North America as required.
