About the Role:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. This individual will analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen operations. Additionally, the Sous Chef will demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff, supervise activities, and prepare and cook food on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen operations
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
Requirements:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Permanent employment
- English language proficiency
- 32 to 40 hours per week
