Dean of Social and Community Services in Humber College

The Senior Dean of the Faculty of Social and Community Services at Humber College provides strategic and operational leadership to the Faculty, ensuring the delivery of academic and operational plans. This executive leader is responsible for fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in post-secondary education and experience in strategic planning, financial management, external relations, and faculty development. They must demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as a passion for teaching, learning, and student success.
This senior academic administrator will report to the Senior Vice President Academic and contribute to the development of the Faculty's programs, industry partnerships, research, and student success initiatives. The Executive Leader will also ensure the effective delivery of services and financial performance within the Faculty, while adhering to external accreditation and licensing requirements.
As a collaborative leader, the Senior Dean will lead and foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and across program clusters, Faculties, and organizational departments. They will also develop and implement strategies to continuously generate vibrant and engaged communities across the Faculty and campus.
The ideal candidate has a post-graduate degree in a related field, preferably with a PhD. They should have experience operating within a collegial governance structure and unionized environment. A demonstrated commitment to ensuring academic excellence and a passion for teaching, learning, and student success are essential. Familiarity with the Canadian college sector, including its regulations, accreditation standards, educational programs, and student demographics, is also required.
