Humber College is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Senior Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to providing high-quality education and training in the health sciences and wellness fields.
About the RoleThe Senior Dean will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Faculty, overseeing the development and implementation of academic and administrative priorities. This includes ensuring the effective delivery of services, financial performance, and compliance with external accreditation and licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the Faculty, aligning with the College's strategic direction and priorities.
- Develop and implement academic and administrative plans, ensuring the Faculty's goals and objectives are met.
- Lead and foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and across program clusters, Faculties, and organizational departments.
- Ensure the Faculty's programs and services are aligned with industry needs and standards.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with industry, community, and academic stakeholders.
- Oversee the Faculty's budget and financial planning, ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Ensure the Faculty's compliance with external accreditation and licensing requirements.
- Post-graduate degree in a field related to the Faculty (PhD achieved or in progress is preferred).
- Successful senior leadership experience in a post-secondary or similarly complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
- Experience operating within a collegial governance structure and unionized environment.
- Knowledge, sensitivity, and ability to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into processes, practices, work culture, and curriculum.
- Experience executing and delivering on academic and operational plans.
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring academic excellence and a passion for teaching, learning, and student success.
- Experience working with and/or within a licensed health regulated profession (e.g., nurse, pharmacist, occupational therapist, social worker) is considered an asset.
