Humber College is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Senior Dean, Faculty of Social and Community Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the further development of the Faculty, its programs, industry partnerships, research, student success, and the teaching and learning environment.
About the RoleThe Senior Dean will provide strategic and operational leadership over the administrative and academic priorities of the Faculty. This includes ensuring the successful design and delivery of the academic and operational plan, developing mutually supportive partnerships and alliances with stakeholders, and fostering an inclusive, student-centered community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership over the Faculty's administrative and academic priorities
- Develop and deliver on academic and operational plans
- Build and maintain partnerships with industry, community, and academic stakeholders
- Lead and foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and across program clusters, Faculties, and organizational departments
- Ensure the effective delivery of services and financial performance within the Faculty, while conforming to all external accreditation and licensing requirements
- Post-graduate degree in a related field (PhD achieved or in progress is preferred)
- Successful senior leadership experience in a post-secondary or similarly complex, multi-stakeholder organization
- Experience operating within a collegial governance structure and unionized environment
- Knowledge, sensitivity, and ability to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into processes, practices, work culture, and curriculum
- Experience developing and delivering on academic and operational plans
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to continuously generate vibrant and engaged communities across the Faculty and campus
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring academic excellence and a passion for teaching, learning, and student success
- Familiarity with the Canadian college sector, including its regulations, accreditation standards, educational programs, and student demographics
