Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for conducting environmental monitoring and inspections at construction sites across southern Ontario.

About the Role
  • You will conduct environmental monitoring and inspection for compliance with provincial regulations and environmental management plans.
  • Determine the effectiveness of environmental mitigation measures to be installed or implemented during construction.
  • Notify contractors of any issues that may require mitigation.
Responsibilities
  1. Conduct regular site visits to monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Review and assess environmental management plans to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
  3. Collaborate with project teams to implement effective environmental management practices.
  4. Analyze data and reports to inform decision-making and improve environmental outcomes.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  6. Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices to provide expert guidance to project teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
  • Proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing effective environmental management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
