Environmental Permits and Approvals Coordinator

We are currently seeking an Environmental Permits and Approvals Specialist to join our team in downtown Toronto. This is a full-time onsite position.
The successful candidate will have the authority to obtain environmental Contractor Permits, Licenses, Approvals, and Agreements, ensuring compliance with project obligations. Key responsibilities include managing and coordinating all aspects of Environmental Permits and Approvals, including tracking output specifications, schedules, and technical requirements. The role also involves leading regulatory approval processes, preparing and submitting plans, reports, and documents to the Contracting Authority, and monitoring environmental and sustainability metrics.
To excel in this role, you will need at least 3-5 years of experience in environmental planning, municipal planning, building, construction, or engineering. A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in urban planning, engineering, environmental studies, architecture, or a combination of education, training, and experience is required. You should have knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and permitting requirements, including Ontario Water Resources Act, Building Code, Planning Act (Ontario), Metrolinx, Transit and Rail Project Assessment Process, GO Transit Class EA Document, Environmental Assessment Act (Ontario), and railway corridor infrastructure. Experience with stakeholder engagement, large-scale infrastructure projects, and successfully managing Environmental Aspects of permits and approvals for transit projects in Ontario is highly valued.
A competitive salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive health insurance package, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
