About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in ecological studies, including project planning, coordination, and execution. Your extensive experience in fieldwork, biological surveys, and environmental monitoring will be invaluable to our team. Additionally, your knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, as well as regulatory processes, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct biological surveys according to applicable protocols and methods.">
  • Serve as a key resource for various environmental assessment and permitting projects.">
  • Lead fieldwork and mentor junior field staff members.">
  • Develop and implement environmental monitoring and mitigation plans.">
  • Evaluate the technical quality of work, including field methods.">
  • Assist in preparing technical data reports, which may involve desktop research, regulatory approvals, and permitting applications.">
  • Create environmental documents, such as environmental inspections, monitoring, screenings, or similar.">
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.">
  • Conduct field-based environmental monitoring during the construction phase to ensure compliance with environmental management requirements.">

Qualifications

  • ">
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a relevant university degree, diploma, or graduation from a technical program.">
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in planning, conducting, and/or managing ecological studies, encompassing wildlife, terrestrial, vegetation, wetlands, fish, and fish habitats.">
  • Experience working on construction sites in an environmental capacity.">
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Ontario's terrestrial and/or aquatic habitats.">
  • A working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory processes.">

Compensation Package

">

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. This package also includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic industry.
