Director of Development, Major Gifts

As a key member of the AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter team, the Director of Development, Major Gifts will lead and provide oversight to the major giving unit, driving major gift fundraising and sponsorship activities through the Office of Advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the major giving unit to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Advancement to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to development staff to ensure effective major gift fundraising practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of success in major gift fundraising, with a strong understanding of donor psychology and behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership.
