About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health organization is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. You will advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized university, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. A minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset. The successful candidate will have competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counseling patients. They will also have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, including preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students. They will also contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Dietitian who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care. If you have the following qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply:

  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists

Hours

The successful candidate will work as a Permanent Part-time, 60% FTE, 45 hours biweekly. Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $43.43 per hour. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
