Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hazardous Waste Technician to join our team at LGC Group. As a key member of our environmental health and safety team, you will be responsible for handling, processing, packaging, and tracking hazardous waste for shipment, treatment, and disposal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer the hazardous waste program, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, laws, and amendments.
  • Receive, identify, sort, and prepare hazardous waste for disposal, verifying its classification and tracking inventories.
  • Coordinate with vendors, transportation companies, and hazardous waste generators to ensure timely and safe disposal of waste materials.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs, including SOPs, policies, and training.
  • Participate in workplace audits and investigations of health and safety incidents and concerns.
Requirements
  • University degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Science, Engineering, Waste Management, or Toxicology.
  • One to two years' experience working as a hazardous waste technician.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation to travel to the Vaughan facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
