About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team at Deciem. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Eastside Production Facility in Etobicoke, with occasional travel to other locations in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
  • Ensure all work performed meets Deciem's safety, regulatory compliance, and applicable government guidelines and codes.
  • Assist in winter maintenance management, office moving, event management, and other tasks as required.
  • Respond to repair requests and perform routine checks on facility areas, equipment, and systems.
  • Attend weekly 'Toolbox' meetings for reviewing issues, planning, and effective communication.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with CMMS assigned work orders, PM, and CM tasks.
  • Respond to CM (Corrective Maintenance) or RM (Repair Maintenance) work order requests and initiate and close CM/RM work orders in the CMMS on a regular basis.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Daily PM tasks, including verifying the natural gas generator oil/operation, water testing for Boiler, Purified Water System, Water Management system, Daily facility check, Safety Check.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Daily inspection and maintaining high housekeeping standards (adopt 5S) in all mechanical rooms.
  • As required, assist/supervise/escort facility contractors and ensure they are complying with Deciem GMP, Security/Avetta/Safety Permit, and HSE policies.
Requirements
  • Drywall, plumbing, painting, minor electrical & plumbing experience.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Working under pressure and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
