Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair services on non-technical facility components, ensuring the upkeep of our facilities and providing a safe and healthy environment for our clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and on-demand maintenance and repair services on non-technical facility components, including walls, floors, and other general handyman-type work.
  • Conduct regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection to identify potential issues and recommend enhancements and repairs.
  • Respond to service requests and perform preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.
  • Record and track maintenance and repair work in our service maintenance management database, ensuring that all work completed meets quality and contract requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs and ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded, and escalated.
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related projects and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school education and minimum 1-3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components and provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies.
  • Strong client-service orientation, effective communication skills, and a high sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or beginning to work towards a trades certification or license.
  • Valid driver's license.
