Job Title: Quality Assurance Team Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Team Lead to join our team at Wonderbrands. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our bakery operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as a backup for the BQM on an as-required basis
* Perform shelf life evaluations and report on products per established procedures with review
* Conduct daily GMP walkthroughs and report any findings, investigate RCA, and implement CAPA after reviewing with the BQM
* Support the development of food safety and quality training, conduct training on food safety and quality requirements for all employees in the bakery
* Manage product specification verification and documentation
* Examine incoming raw materials, processes, and finished products to ensure they comply with quality and food safety standards
* Verify packaging operations to ensure correct packaging, labeling, production codes, and best-before marking and carton labeling
* Conduct sampling of the plant environment and equipment, water, raw materials, and finished products for microbiological and/or analytical testing/sensory evaluation
* Support trials/first production approval runs in compliance
* Hold product or ingredient control and dispositions
* Assist with the maintenance of all HACCP programs
* Document review and preparation for approval based on corporate procedure, accountable for the update and integration, documentation, and maintenance of plant procedures and SOPs
* Support in mock recalls and traceability exercises, perform traceability through SAP, and complete mass balance using data analysis program to track bottom-up and top-down trace within the given time
* Provide trace information in report format to the BQM
* Participate and support in all internal/third-party/CFIA and/or FDA audits
* Identify, report non-compliance for any out-of-compliance situation or food safety incidents, support BQM with RCA and CAPA implementation for ingredients/packaging, and finished products
* Complete inspections for glass and brittle plastics, pest control, and overall plant food safety with review and updates/follow-ups
* Support BQM with RFT data measurements and consumer complaint investigations
* Report and log analytical test results for each line and ensure compliance to WB and/or customer specifications
* Complete shift reports and audit sheets as required
* Perform certificate of analysis reviews and data entry and filing
* Issue non-conformance reporting for incoming ingredient or packaging deviations
* Tracegain, Kosher, and pest control portal data review preparation and pulling data for monthly reviews
* Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by the BQM

Requirements

* 3 to 5 years of experience in a quality control food manufacturing setting
* Post-secondary in a food safety/quality-related program
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Strong oral and written communication in English
* Ability to partner with all levels of production from operators to supervisors
* Flexible and willing to work overtime where required (in busy season)
