Manufacturing Quality Assurance Professional

Can-Tech Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality Assurance Professional to join our team in the Mississauga area.
Our client, a reputable Canadian manufacturer of Patio Furniture and Storage Products, prides itself on offering timeless design and quality construction. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in developing, updating, and implementing work instructions and packaging specifications for various products.
- Maintain the Document Control Program for the whole site, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and train employees on Open Point Lesson (OPL), QA Alerts, and other quality-related procedures.
- Prepare daily/weekly quality reports for the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Monitor and collect data, statistics for month-end reports.
- Support the General Manager and Quality Assurance Manager in enforcing new quality goals based on product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct inspections on customer returns and identify quality issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
- Develop and oversee product testing methods for new and existing products at different stages of production.
- Analyze dimensional layouts and make improvements where required as per customer requirements.
- Investigate all non-conformity reports and issue quality assessments as needed.
- Create and submit Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) & First Article Inspection Review (FAIR) to customers, as required.
- C coordinate internal audits to ensure consistency in company practices.
- Conduct monthly GMPs, 9001:2015, and other customer-related audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Generate findings/CAR for department managers to address and be in compliance with given standards.
- Organize audits on suppliers using various assessment strategies.
- Train production staff and quality assurance technicians on quality standards and procedures.
- Maintain and file quality documentation, including quality alerts, testing results, and corrective actions.
- Oversee and maintain the Calibration Program for the site and report any issues to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- In absence of the QAM, attend quality-related inter-departmental meetings.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Engineering or Quality.
- A working background in the plastics industry is desirable.
- Able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Good understanding of manufacturing systems, as they relate to quality.
- Self-starter and able to work in an extremely fast-paced team environment.
- Able to make sound decisions and judgment calls relative to customer specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and other relevant software.
