The University of British Columbia seeks a distinguished academic leader to serve as the Dean of the Faculty of Education. The successful candidate will be a Full Professor with a record of senior academic and administrative leadership in education or a related field.

The Dean will be responsible for managing resources, promoting research, pedagogical and scholarly excellence, and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They must have a deep commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and practice, as well as a broad understanding of the Faculty's range of scholarship.

The ideal candidate will have a collaborative, collegial, and inspirational leadership style with the ability to empower faculty, staff, and students. They must also have a visionary and innovative approach to leadership and education, as well as excellent communication skills.

The new Dean will take office in the summer of 2024 or as mutually agreed. The Advisory Committee will begin consideration of candidates in early September 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.
