We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our Emergency Department.
About the Role
Under the delegation of a Supervising Physician, you will be responsible for assessing and managing medium to high acuity patients, including those who may require admission. You will work independently with good clinical intuition, reviewing each case with the staff physician as needed. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and managing patients in our See and Treat area
- Applying clinical knowledge to care for ED patients assessed as CTAS level 4 and 5
- Working as a lead medical provider in our innovative ED Fast Track Program
- Seeking appropriate consultation from the supervising physician and other health professionals
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree (Physician Assistant), Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant Degree, or Canadian Forces Health Services Physician Assistant Baccalaureate degree
- Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency medicine and the Emergency Department patient
- Knowledge of Physician Assistant Scope of Practice, Delegation of Controlled Acts, and Medical Directives
- Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
