Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department.
The successful candidate will work under the delegation of a Supervising Physician to provide high-quality patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and manage complex patients, including those requiring admission and low-acuity patients
- Work independently with good clinical intuition, reviewing each case with the staff physician
- Lead physician education in Meditech Expanse and undertake improvement initiatives related to workflow processes
- Be a lead care provider for our innovative ED Fast Track Program
- Bachelor of Science Degree (Physician Assistant), Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant Degree, or Canadian Forces Health Services Physician Assistant Baccalaureate degree required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency medicine and the Emergency Department patient
- Knowledge of Physician Assistant Scope of Practice, Delegation of Controlled Acts, and Medical Directives
- Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, team building, conflict resolution, decision-making, managing change, and group process
- Strong computer skills and technological aptitude
