We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage medium to high acuity patients, including those who may require admission, in our Emergency Department.
- Work collaboratively with the supervising physician and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Lead medical provider in our innovative ED Fast Track Program, ensuring efficient and effective care for patients.
- Perform a complete and appropriate assessment of patients, formulate a differential diagnosis, and develop a clinical treatment plan.
- Provide education to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Facilitate coordination of the interdisciplinary team through referrals to appropriate healthcare providers authorized by the supervising physician.
- Bachelor of Science Degree (Physician Assistant), Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant Degree, or Canadian Forces Health Services Physician Assistant Baccalaureate degree required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency medicine and the Emergency Department patient.
- Knowledge of Physician Assistant Scope of Practice, Delegation of Controlled Acts, and Medical Directives.
- Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, team building, conflict resolution, decision-making, managing change, and group process.
- Strong computer skills and technological aptitude.
