Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Unionville College: Montessori, Elementary, & Secondary School. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Childcare and Education: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Communication and Reporting: Engage children in activities, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Establish guidelines for behavior, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Work Setting: Day care centre or nursery school.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, flexibility, and a team player attitude.
