About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Director - Sports Gameplay to lead our team in crafting a world-class sports game experience. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and talented individual to join our studio and drive the long-term vision for our second-to-second gameplay.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for defining and driving the product vision for our sports gameplay, working closely with producers, engineers, animators, and designers to ensure seamless execution.
  • As the 'Product Owner', you will acquire intimate knowledge of our target player and product goals, as well as the competitive landscape.
  • You will partner with the Head of Design to define the vision for our gameplay, collaborate with QA teams to drive testing, and evaluate progress and game quality.
  • You will build and manage a high-performing design team, working with production and tech leaders to hire talent and define team shape.
  • You will direct your team to craft the design of our gameplay experience, managing timely generation of design documentation and reviewing designs from members of your team.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • You have a passion for sports and sports video games, with experience directing and delivering high-quality 'second-to-second' game experiences.
  • You have experience leading design teams and directing sizeable development teams, with a proven track record of delivering world-class results.
  • You are familiar with animation technology, including Blend techniques, masking, and procedural animation.
  • You have an appetite for taking on 'Product Owner' responsibilities, including backlog management and prioritization.
  • You possess a positive, proactive attitude, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
