About the Role: As a Lead Sports Game Designer Director, you will be responsible for driving the long-term vision for our sports game development. You will partner with production and tech peers to lead a sizable team of developers, ensuring that our games meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be the 'Product Owner' for our sports game development team, acquiring intimate knowledge of our target player and product goals, as well as the competitive landscape.
  • Partner with producers and tech peers to lead your team, drive the generation and prioritization of your team's backlog, and collaborate with QA teams to drive testing and external testing as needed.
  • Build a team, working with production and tech leaders to define team shape and hire talent.
  • Direct your design team to craft the design of our sports game experience, espousing WGLL for design process and documentation, managing timely generation of design documentation, collaborating with reports to generate design direction documentation, reviewing and approving designs from team members.
  • Inspire and align the Studio on your vision for sports gameplay, passionately presenting visions to the team, sharing design material asynchronously, working closely with engineers, animators, and artists to implement your vision, and presenting the game publicly to press as we approach release.
  • Mentor and manage your design team, championing our framework for designer responsibilities at 2KSL, being a source of knowledge and experience for other team members, managing and contributing to positive morale and a healthy team culture.
  • Be an individual contributor when time allows, understanding technical details of how the game works, exemplifying WGLL by being keen and able to be in engine to deliver the strongest possible experience.

What We Offer:

Requirements:

  • Possession of a high-quality bar for directing and delivering 'product-defining' high-quality 'second-to-second' game experiences.
  • Experience leading a design team (5+), directing a sizeable development team (20+), and working with animation SEs and animators familiar with animation technology.
  • Appetite for taking on 'Product Owner' responsibilities, including backlog management and prioritization.
  • Positive, can-do, proactive, and hands-on attitude.
  • Possession of beneficial qualifications, including passion for sports, experience working on sports games, experience with animation-based features, and experience with AI-based features.
