Chief Medical Officer

North End Women's Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our team and drive our mission forward. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight, and direction to our Centre, ensuring the stability, success, and sustainability of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership to the Centre and oversee financial and administrative operations, grants and funding administration, human resource management, community building and engagement, and organizational sustainability.
- Represent the organization in the community, build strategic partnerships with other organizations, government agencies, community, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategic decisions and policy development, providing regular updates and reports.
- Manage effective day-to-day operations of the organization and its staff, ensuring alignment with guiding principles, values, policies, and team structure.
- Manage the organization's finances, focusing on secured funding and sustainability, and ensuring strong financial controls and management across the organization.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as human resources, inner city studies, women and gender studies, organizational, or non-profit management, or social services.
- Experience in communications and conflict resolution, including working with Indigenous communities, marginalized groups, and vulnerable people.
- Experience in program/project development, coordination, and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of harm-reduction and crisis planning/reaction approaches, and willingness to certify.
- Knowledge of the impacts of patriarchy, misogyny, and colonialism as they relate to poverty, addictions, violence, mental health, and dependency on women.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent verbal communicator, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Active listener, with high emotional intelligence.
- Ability to think and operate within an Indigenous/cultural/decolonial lens and worldview, and relate to Indigenous people and communities.
- Inclusive understanding of gender diverse communities.
