Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Consultant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Hospice Palliative Care Consultation Team, you will play a vital role in supporting and mentoring primary care givers in various care settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish regular contact with key palliative care stakeholders in your assigned Health Service Delivery Area.
  • Develop and implement education and resources to build capacity across the continuum of care at all levels.
  • Provide consults on clinically complex pain, symptom, and psychosocial issues for persons registered with the NH HPC Program.
  • Provide leadership related to the development of policies, procedures, and education needs related to the NH HPC Program.
Requirements

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Minimum two (2) years full-time recent experience in palliative care nursing with a focus on pain and symptom management.
  • Certificate of specialized training in palliative care or post-basic palliative care nursing courses and evidence of palliative care nursing education.
  • Two years of demonstrated teaching experience for a range of health care providers.
