Palliative Care Nurse Consultant

This is an exceptional opportunity to join Northern Health Authority as a Palliative Care Nurse Consultant, working closely with the Regional Palliative Care Consultation Team Lead. As a key member of the team, you will utilize your expert knowledge and skills to support and mentor primary care givers in various settings, providing guidance on clinically complex pain, symptom, and psychosocial issues.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a focus on palliative care nursing, pain, and symptom management. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience in this field, with a Certificate of specialized training in palliative care or post-basic palliative care nursing courses. Additionally, they should have demonstrated teaching experience for a range of healthcare providers and possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Establishing regular contact with key palliative care stakeholders within their assigned Health Service Delivery Area.
- Developing and implementing education/resources to build capacity across the continuum of care at all levels.
- Providing consults on clinically complex pain, symptom, and psychosocial issues for persons registered with the NH HPC Program.

Salary Range
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $70,000 and $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
