Job Title: Implementation Specialist


Job Summary:


BFG Enterprise Services is seeking a highly skilled Implementation Specialist to join our team. As an Implementation Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of communications hardware and networks in retail environments.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Interpret and manage work orders, drawings, and specifications to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform site inspections to assess network infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assemble and set up all necessary tools, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient installation.
  • Test and verify the functionality of computers, peripherals, hardware, and software to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Install network and peripheral hardware, including servers, switches, RF, POS, wireless, and printers, to ensure seamless integration.
  • Test, review, and troubleshoot installed systems to ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Travel to customer sites across assigned geographic work areas to perform the work, often working on day and night shifts.
  • Install cable supports as required and ensure that all cabling is properly terminated and tested.
  • Provide detailed work logs and reports to management and customers.
  • Liaise with customers, store managers, and employees to explain, coordinate, and schedule hardware installations.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Network/POS/PC experience, preferably in a retail communications environment.
  • Working experience with retail communications networks, POS, and PC systems is an asset.
  • Experience in installing various types of network infrastructure equipment, including switches, routers, servers, DSL modems, wireless switches, and access points.
  • Experience in troubleshooting cabling, hardware, and network-related issues in the field.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Proficient computer skills and solid knowledge of computer networking.
  • A valid and unexpired Class G driver's license and the ability to produce a clean driver's abstract upon hire and periodically throughout employment.
  • Fall Protection/Working at Heights (Ontario) and Elevated Work Platform certification.
  • A reliable vehicle and the ability to drive to and from jobs independently.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and good writing skills.
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook skills are highly desirable.

  • Ability and willingness to perform revolving day/night shifts, weekends, on-call, call-backs, and overtime.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team.
  • Ability and willingness to perform extensive travel throughout assigned geographic regions.
