HR Manager

As a key member of our team, the HR Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources, including recruiting, employee training and development, employee relations, and talent management. This role will partner with local Management, Regional HR Director, and Company President to drive both tactical and strategic HR initiatives across our manufacturing locations in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Key Responsibilities:- Employee Relations: Create and deliver people practices to promote positive working relationships
- Onboarding: Ensure new hires have an understanding of company policies and benefits
- Payroll: Communicate changes on employees' pay and organizational changes on a timely basis
- Recruiting: Workforce planning/development across region, supporting local and national recruiting and succession programs
- Retention: Ensure competitive salary and benefit programs are offered throughout the region, assisting leadership with employee performance reviews
- Training/Coaching: Develop and steward regional training programs to ensure training standards are being met, fostering mentoring skills and creating a coaching culture across all locations
- People Development: Partner with Managers, Regional HR Director, and Company President on people development initiatives, developing strong present and future leadership talent within the organization
- Employment Practices: Ensure effective and consistent compliance management processes and procedures are being met across all locations, investigating employee relations issues and concerns
- Organizational Effectiveness: Drive HR Review process and ensure consistent processes across all locations
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Business or Human Resources
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience; professional certification a plus
- Experience in multi-site operations, including unionized operations, with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Strong internal customer focus and collaborative style
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, proven organization and time management abilities
