About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Belcan Corporation in Halifax, NS. This is a direct hire on-site position that offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the delivery of detail design activities across programmes within the Belcan Marine systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the project and managing a team of engineers to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of detail design activities.
- Providing technical governance and support to the team to ensure quality and compliance with engineering standards.
- Communicating effectively with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to maximize billability and minimize overspend.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A degree qualification in a relevant field such as marine engineering or defence-related industry experience.
- Experience in naval ship spatial modelling and production and checking of marine output drawings of various disciplines, particularly layouts.
- High proficiency in using tools and techniques used by the team, including CAD software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong awareness of naval ship design rules and specifications, as well as quality and technical standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive customer interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in project co-ordination and management in a challenging delivery environment.
- Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting responses to operational units or other activities.
- Familiarity with regulatory and statutory requirements of the product.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this role is between $90,000 and $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
