At Aecon, we are seeking a seasoned Estimating Manager to lead our Urban Transportation Solutions team in the Greater Toronto Area. With a strong commitment to safety and sustainability, we foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will possess 12+ years of experience in estimating and operations within major project estimating, including design-build with 5+ years in a management role. They will have a diploma or degree in Civil Construction or an equivalent combination of training, and be a Professional Engineer or hold an equivalent designation.

This leadership position involves overseeing teams of estimators, providing guidance on cost make-up, and assisting the Chief Estimator in managing and developing the estimating group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the estimating effort through the development phase and beyond, including chairing team meetings to set project goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing value engineering and reviewing design options to recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
  • Contributing to the risk assessment and management process by identifying risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the risk manager.
  • Formulating all tender costs, including labour, material, equipment, and procure subcontractor scope and costs, for target cost submission.
  • Leading the estimate close-out process, including tender reviews and sub-proposal reviews and analysis.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with Aecon's estimating policy, risk management policy, and standard operating procedures. They will also lead the successful transition and handover of estimating documents to the project execution teams.

Aecon offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
