Department Support Liaison

Cambrian College is seeking a Department Support Officer to provide operational and programmatic support to the Dean and School. This role involves coordinating tasks, managing issues, and communicating with stakeholders including students, faculty, and college departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational analysis, coordination, and support to the Dean and School.
- Manage issues and communicate with stakeholders, including students, faculty, and college departments.
- Represent the Dean in dealing with student inquiries and maintain liaison with various College departments.
- Facilitate the loading process, enter group projections, and review start-up reports.
- Liaise with Admissions and Registrar offices regarding curriculum, admission requirements, registration, and student data on Banner.
- Coordinate response requests, compose presentations, reports, and correspondence on behalf of the Dean.
- Compile information, compose material, and correspondence related to the School and its programs, and maintain databases for program maps and student placement information.
- Coordinate department involvement in registration, Open House, Cambrian Day, and other special events.
- Prepare and monitor the departmental budget, compile and analyze financial data, and provide recommendations to the Dean.
Qualifications
- Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree.
- Five years of related experience with direct academic loading or scheduling, budgetary experience, and project management.
- Excellent customer service, communication, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and good judgment.
- Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data sharing tools (Microsoft Forms, MS Teams).
