Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Island Health.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team, including communicating effectively with patients and staff, managing paperwork and records, and performing various tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff through verbal and written communication
  • Manage and maintain accurate and confidential patient records and other documents
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
  • Assist with coordinating appointments, meetings, and other events
  • Provide general office support, including answering phones and responding to emails
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to type at 40 wpm and operate basic office equipment
