Food Service Worker II

We are seeking a reliable and flexible Food Service Worker II to join our team at Slocan Community Hospital. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of duties within a Food Service Operation, including portioning and serving meals and beverages, setting tables and trays, and collecting and unloading food service wagons.
- Wash and peel vegetables and fruit, prepare items such as meat, fish, or poultry for procedures, and count, weigh, and/or measure ingredients for assigned food preparation areas.
- Prepare beverages and food items, wash dishes and utensils, and perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and washing floors, cleaning counter tops and tables.
- Assist with clerical duties, including answering the telephone, running diet sheets off the computer, and writing information on menu cards.
- Receive supplies and check goods received against invoices, and take and record the temperature of hot foods at point of service.
As a Food Service Worker II with Interior Health, you will have opportunities to gain permanent and temporary work, cross-training into other areas of support services, and potential for employer-paid health and wellness benefits, including a pension plan and group life benefits.
Requirements:You must be reliable and have a flexible schedule to work a rotating schedule, including some weekends and holidays as required. A valid Food Safe Certificate is also required.
