Our company is a multi-trade contractor with our head office located in Waterloo, Ontario. We specialize in Commercial, Industrial, Water, and Wastewater Treatment projects.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee the construction of ICI projects, including water treatment facilities and industrial buildings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing on-site activities, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the construction of ICI projects, including water treatment facilities and industrial buildings.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Oversee on-site activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to achieve project objectives.
  • Travel to sites across Ontario as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage project budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and quality on-site.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare progress reports, update project schedules, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts, solve problems, and make decisions to keep projects on track.

The Successful Applicant

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Superintendent in ICI construction, with a focus on water treatment facilities and industrial projects.
  • A willingness to travel across Ontario.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations in the ICI sector.
  • A proven track record in successfully managing new build and renovation projects within the specified industry.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification or training in construction management or a related field is an asset.
