Job Description

This is a full-time, permanent position at Halton Healthcare. The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight of the Point of Care (POC) Program across all three sites, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Workflow Planning: Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating workflow and processes to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Project Management: Perform project management activities when introducing new POCT devices or middleware upgrades.
  • Quality Control: Ensure daily work is completed according to established departmental policies and procedures, monitoring quality control and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Training and Development: Train and teach technical staff in designated areas, overseeing student teaching programs and conducting regular staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Current general registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario required.
  • Experience: Recent clinical experience of 5 years in a department managing a POC program, with expertise in various POC devices and Aegis POC software.
  • Skills: Demonstrated excellence in laboratory Quality Control theory, practice, and troubleshooting, as well as organizational skills, adaptability, and effective communication.
