**Job Title:** Medical Laboratory Technician

**Company Overview:** Client Staffing Solutions Inc is a leading provider of temporary and permanent staffing solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team.

**Estimated Salary:** $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Location:** Nashville, TN

**Job Description:

Summary:

The main function of a Medical Laboratory Technician is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
  2. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and/or other specimen collection as required.
  3. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  4. Fully understands all of the physicians' orders.
  5. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  6. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correctness.
  7. Package specimens for transport.
  8. Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection container/tube, accurately label, and follow different procedures as outlined by specific protocols deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
  9. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  10. Attend annual department training.
  11. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
  2. Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. High School Diploma or GED.
  5. 0-2 years of experience.
