About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sunset Inn & Suites. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation
    • Assist in planning and preparing menus for special events and daily operations
    • Source high-quality ingredients and supplies to ensure exceptional menu offerings
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation
    • Develop and implement kitchen policies and procedures to maintain high standards of quality and safety
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage kitchen inventory to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with the Executive Chef and other culinary team members to achieve menu and service goals
    • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food preparation and presentation
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Chef Assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
