We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work alongside Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Allied Health, Nursing, and Administrative professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Job Summary:As a Radiation Therapist I, you will be responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatment to patients, assisting in the planning of patient care, and educating patients about treatment procedures and side effects. You will work with innovative treatment technologies, including CT and MRI simulators, adaptive RT utilizing MR Linac technology, and external beam radiation with Varian Linacs.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver prescribed radiation treatment to patients
- Assist in the planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures
- Educate patients about treatment procedures and side effects
- Assess patient reactions to treatment and document treatment plans
- Maintain patient records and make referrals to other health professionals as needed
- Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
- Ability to perform all duties of the job, including lifting and moving
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
