Looking for a challenging career opportunity in radiation therapy? Alberta Health Services is seeking a Radiation Therapist I to join their team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AC) in Calgary.

About the Role

This exciting role offers the chance to work with innovative treatment technologies and diagnostic equipment, including CT and MRI simulators, adaptive RT utilizing MR Linac technology, external beam radiation with Varian Linacs, MRI guided brachy therapy, and more.

As a Radiation Therapist I, you will be responsible for delivering prescribed courses of radiation treatment to patients and assisting in the efficient, safe, and accurate planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures. You will also assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records.

Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
