Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team at Clipper Navigation, Ltd. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring prompt and accurate payroll submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process US and Canadian payroll using ADP Workforce Now
  • Calculate supplemental pay (commission/tips/layover) on a biweekly and monthly basis
  • Run post-payroll reports and process benefits funding
  • Create benefits invoices for the accounting team and ensure billings are correct, payments are made, and eligible employees are enrolled in benefits
  • Communicate with benefits partners when questions arise
  • Prepare reports and information as needed to reply to auditor or management requests
  • Assist employees with personal info changes, timecard edits, and questions regarding pay
  • Assist with documentation and improving processes and procedures
  • Assist with retrieving resumes through job posting sites
  • Assist with onboarding and off-boarding employees
Requirements
  • 4-year business or accounting degree
  • 2 years' experience in an equivalent position
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and other relevant software applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communications skills – written, oral and interpersonal

Work Environment

This is a full-time, year-round position with a competitive hourly rate of $28 - $32 per hour depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the ability to work from home one day a week after training period.
