Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional to join our team at The Pod Group. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering care and supports to children and families affected by abuse and homelessness.

About the Role

The Mental Health & Addictions Worker will provide comprehensive support services, including case management, education, and advocacy. You will work closely with residents, internal departmental staff, and community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough mental health and addiction assessments to identify residents' needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide ongoing case management, safety planning, and supportive sessions to residents.
  • Liaise with community partners to facilitate access to community services and make referrals as needed.
  • Address residents' mental health and addictions crises, reducing the need for additional crisis intervention from emergency services.
  • Maintain accurate statistics and client documentation in accordance with file management policies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent diploma; post-secondary education and/or experience working in Gender-Based Violence or related human services fields will be considered.
  • Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions is an asset.
  • Three years' experience working with women and/or their children who have been impacted by gender-based violence is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of the issues and current trends around gender-based violence.
  • Knowledge of Feminist Principles and ability to work with a trauma-informed, inclusive, non-violent, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory police/CPIC/Vulnerable Sector check.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
