Job Summary:

CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a skilled Comprehensive Mental Health Therapist to join our team in shaping a brighter future for children, youth and families. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide timely mental health care and empower clients to thrive.

About the Role:
CASA Classrooms are our new model for school-based mental health service, addressing the need for services closer to students by bridging a child's mental health and school needs through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. The program is delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social-spiritual mental health assessments of assigned clients.
- Formulate diagnoses as appropriate, using the DSM-V and/or other diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with Elders and Knowledge Keepers from the communities we serve.
- Facilitate psychoeducational group sessions on general mental health topics for school staff, caregivers and community service providers.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of First Nation and Métis school division partners.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, professionals, caregivers, Elders and Knowledge Keepers to develop holistic patient care plans and support successful transitions.
- Participate in school and community events, including traditional ceremonies and cultural events.
- Provide coverage for the Kipohtakaw Education Centre Mental Health Therapist.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in clinical psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing.
- Active registration and in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
- A minimum of two years clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Access to cultural and spiritual knowledge and training is provided.
Conditions of Employment:
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- Must maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification and be physically able to perform all interventions.
