Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Arctic Arrow Group is a leading provider of powerline transmission, distribution, and underground cable work services. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Operate heavy construction equipment in a productive and efficient manner, including in high-traffic, remote, or congested areas, and in all weather conditions.
  • Perform daily equipment walk-around inspections and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in the preventive maintenance program for the equipment operated.
  • Communicate effectively with mechanics and other stakeholders to resolve equipment issues.
  • Complete and submit daily paperwork as required.
  • Ensure timely attendance and a clean driving record.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 license and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Construction equipment operating experience.
  • Related certificates and training, such as PME, Ground Disturbance, TDG, CSTS-2020, First Aid, H2S, and WHMIS, are assets for this position.
