Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $83,119 per year, based on a 35-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients with severe and persistent psychiatric illness, developing and implementing integrated treatment plans (ITPs) tailored to their needs.
  • Provide community case coordination and advocacy services, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication among mental health teams, private psychiatrists, family physicians, and social service agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation of client information, adhering to FPSC policy standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate access to psychiatric and social services, including referrals, home visits, and community reintegration efforts.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Two years' recent experience working with individuals in the community with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid BC Driver's License for local area travel.
