Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nursing Practice Consultant to join our team. As a Nursing Practice Consultant, you will provide professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based healthcare providers in relation to mental health and substance use. You will also support the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based healthcare providers in relation to mental health and substance use.
- Support the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community stakeholders to improve nursing practice standards in communities.
- Develop and implement educational programs and resources to support community nurses in delivering high-quality care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Additional training and education related to substance use, addictions, mental health, and trauma-informed practice.
- Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing clinical practice support in primary care, community, and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care, and/or outpatient centers, including two (2) years of experience caring for clients with mental health and substance use concerns.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
