About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Practice Consultant to join our team at the First Nations Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based mental health and substance use initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based mental health and substance use initiatives.
  • Support the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses employed in the delivery of nursing care in First Nations communities.
  • Collaborate with community-based teams to develop and implement evidence-based nursing practices and policies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on mental health and substance use nursing practices to community-based teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Additional training and education related to substance use, addictions, mental health, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing clinical practice support in primary care, community, and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care, and/or outpatient centers, including two (2) years of experience caring for clients with mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
