The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a Nursing Practice Consultant to deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based mental health and substance use programs.

About the Role

As a Nursing Practice Consultant, you will provide clinical practice support to community-based nurses in First Nations communities, focusing on mental health and substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based nurses
  • Support the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses
  • Provide expertise on mental health and substance use issues to community-based nurses

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Additional training and education related to substance use, addictions, mental health, and trauma-informed practice
  • Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing clinical practice support in primary care, community, and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care, and/or outpatient centers
  • Two (2) years of experience caring for clients with mental health and substance use concerns
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
