Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Literacy Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Ontario Language Curriculum and the ability to implement literacy programs that cater to diverse student needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement literacy programs for students in Early Years and Primary grades, focusing on the Science of Reading.
  2. Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to identify and provide programming for students with diverse learning needs.
  3. Provide coaching and support to teachers on literacy pedagogy and assessment.
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in literacy education.

Requirements:

  1. Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (Primary / Junior / Intermediate Qualifications)
  2. AQ - Reading Specialist - Early Years Focus
  3. AQ - Special Education Part 1
  4. 3-5 years of teaching, leadership, and academic coaching experience
  5. Experience working with collaborative and multi-disciplinary teams
  6. Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  7. Strong knowledge of Assistive Technology & Google Apps for Education
